The Handover app for iPhone and iPad

The Handover applications enable better communication between maintenance workers, maintenance leaders and maintenance analysts.

Maintenance leaders use the web application to add, edit and view current and future maintenance events. The Handovers web application also allows maintenance leaders to capture any delays that they experienced throughout the day that impacted the critical path of work (cycle time). These events are then consolidated and sent to the next team at the end of the shift. This ensures the next team can pick up where the last shift finished without anything missing.

Maintenance workers use this field application to add more detail to the event raised by the maintenance leaders via the web application. They are also able to add waste that impacted their day. This application is used as part of the frontline team handover process replacing the historical hand written method.

This digital information bridge between the maintenance leaders and maintenance workers allows for a more a consistent message and solves for breakdowns in communication between the two levels.

Maintenance analysts are able to use the waste data collected by the maintenance leaders and maintenance workers to better understand any delays that the team were and are faced with during a given period of time. This data supports with actions (via other workflows) the elimination of waste in the future which results in removed frustrations for the leaders and their teams.
